Plastic Containers & Packaging: Bahamas import duty
Most plastic containers & packaging are duty-free: 5 of 14 tariff lines under Heading 3923 carry no import duty, and the rest run up to 60%. It includes stoppers, lids, caps and other closures, spools, cops, bobbins and similar supports and sacks and bags — of other plastics — other. Duty is not the whole bill: The Bahamas adds a 1% customs processing fee (minimum $10, maximum $1,500) and 10% VAT on the landed cost.
