Cameras, Optical & Medical Instruments — Bahamas import duty
Chapter 90 covers cameras, optical & medical instruments. The most common rate is 45% import duty (96 of 162 tariff lines), with rates ranging from 0% to 45%. 56 lines are duty-free. It includes sunglasses & eyewear, medical & diagnostic instruments and orthopedic & mobility aids. Duty is not the whole bill: The Bahamas adds a 1% customs processing fee (minimum $10, maximum $750) and 10% VAT on the landed cost.
