Railway Equipment — Bahamas import duty
Every one of the 24 tariff lines under Chapter 86 (railway equipment) carries a flat 45% import duty in The Bahamas. It includes powered by electric accumulators, powered from an external source of electricity and diesel-electric locomotives. Duty is not the whole bill: The Bahamas adds a 1% customs processing fee (minimum $10, maximum $750) and 10% VAT on the landed cost.
