Silk — Bahamas import duty
Chapter 50 covers silk. The most common rate is 45% import duty (6 of 9 tariff lines), with rates ranging from 30% to 45%. It includes raw silk (not thrown), silk waste and silk-worm cocoons suitable for reeling. Duty is not the whole bill: The Bahamas adds a 1% customs processing fee (minimum $10, maximum $750) and 10% VAT on the landed cost.
